Natalie Ann Cassidy (born 13 May 1983) is an English actress and TV star. She is best known for playing Sonia Fowler in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. She has been in the show since 1993. Natalie also appeared in the TV series Psychoville in 2009. She was a contestant on fun reality shows like Strictly Come Dancing (2009) and Celebrity Big Brother (2012).

Natalie Cassidy's Acting Career
Natalie Cassidy started acting when she was a child. She went to the Anna Scher Theatre school. In 1993, she joined the cast of EastEnders as Sonia Jackson. This role made her very famous.
Early TV Roles and Breaks
In 2006, Natalie appeared in an episode of The Catherine Tate Show. She played a rival character to Lauren Cooper. Natalie left EastEnders in 2007 for a short time. Later in 2007, she released a fitness DVD called Natalie Cassidy's Then and Now Workout. In 2008, she was in a documentary called Natalie Cassidy's Diet Secrets. She also appeared regularly on the TV show The Wright Stuff.
Returning to EastEnders and Other Shows
In 2009, Natalie was in the comedy TV series Psychoville. She also did voice-overs for the BBC Three show Underage and Pregnant. In October 2009, it was announced that Natalie would return to EastEnders in 2010. She rejoined her on-screen family, including Lindsey Coulson (Carol Jackson) and Dean Gaffney (Robbie Jackson).
In 2010, Natalie starred in her own reality TV show called Natalie Cassidy: Becoming Mum. She made another brief return to EastEnders in 2011. In January 2012, Natalie joined Celebrity Big Brother. She was the fifth person to leave the house. Before returning to EastEnders permanently, Natalie hosted The Health Lottery on Channel 5. In 2014, she made a permanent return to EastEnders. She has been a regular cast member ever since, except for a break when she had a baby. In August 2020, Natalie appeared in the BBC comedy series Mandy.
Dancing on Strictly Come Dancing
In 2009, Natalie Cassidy joined the popular dance competition Strictly Come Dancing. Her professional dance partner was Vincent Simone. They danced many different styles. Natalie and Vincent were voted off the show in fifth place on 28 November 2009.

Natalie Cassidy's Personal Life
Natalie Cassidy has two daughters. She had her first daughter in 2010. Since 2014, Natalie has been in a relationship with cameraman Marc Humphreys. They got engaged in October 2015. In February 2016, Natalie shared that she was expecting her second child. She gave birth to her second daughter in August 2016.
In January 2019, Natalie announced she would run the London Marathon. She ran with some of her EastEnders co-stars. They did this to support a dementia campaign. This was in honor of their former colleague, the actress Barbara Windsor.
