Natalie Plane (born on August 4, 1996) is a talented athlete from Australia. She plays Australian rules football for the St Kilda Football Club in the AFL Women's competition, which is often called AFLW. Natalie is also a skilled cricket player.
Natalie was chosen by the Carlton Football Club in the 2016 AFL Women's draft. This is like a special selection event where teams pick new players. She was the 83rd player picked overall.
Starting Her AFLW Journey
Natalie Plane made her very first appearance in the AFLW in 2017. This was a big moment because it was the first game ever for both her club, Carlton, and the entire AFLW league! The match took place at Ikon Park against Collingwood.
Sadly, Natalie got an ankle injury during that first game. This injury was serious enough to keep her from playing for the rest of that season. However, she worked hard to recover and returned to play in future seasons. In June 2021, she signed a new contract to continue playing with Carlton.
Playing Cricket Too!
Besides Australian rules football, Natalie Plane is also a professional cricket player. She has represented the Melbourne Renegades team. She played for them in the Women's Big Bash League during the 2016–17 season. This shows she is a versatile athlete who excels in more than one sport!
Moving to St Kilda
In March 2023, Natalie Plane made a big move in her football career. She was traded to the St Kilda Football Club. This means she changed teams to play for St Kilda in the AFLW competition. She continues to be an important player for her team.
