Natick, Nebraska facts for kids
Natick is a small, quiet place in Thomas County, Nebraska, in the United States. It is an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's managed by the county government.
History of Natick
Natick began in the 1880s. This was a time when railroads were very important for connecting places across the country. The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad built its tracks through this area. When the railroad reached this spot, the community of Natick was formed.
It's thought that Natick was named after another place called Natick, Massachusetts. In 1887, the first post office opened in Natick. This was a place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office operated for a while, sometimes opening and sometimes closing, before it finally closed for good in 1916.
