First Presbyterian Church

The First Presbyterian Church is the oldest church building in Blackford County. It was built in 1893. This was during a time called the Indiana Gas Boom.

Like the courthouse, it also shows the Richardsonian Romanesque style. One of the coolest things about this church is its huge, beautiful stained-glass windows. They let in colorful light, making the inside look amazing!

Hartford City Courthouse Square Historic District

This isn't just one building; it's a whole area! The Hartford City Courthouse Square Historic District includes the courthouse and many other buildings around it. This district was once the busiest spot in Hartford City.

It was the center for shopping, meeting friends, and local government. More than forty buildings in this area were built during the Indiana Gas Boom. This shows how much the city grew during that exciting time!

Montpelier Carnegie Library

The Montpelier Carnegie Library is located in Montpelier. This library is special because it's a "Carnegie Library." Many libraries like this were built across the country.

They were funded by a very rich man named Andrew Carnegie. He believed that everyone should have access to books and learning. So, he helped build thousands of libraries!
