Natividad Abascal y Romero-Toro (born 2 April 1943, in Seville, Spain), known to many as Naty Abascal, is a famous Spanish fashion model and a well-known person in society. She was once known as the Duchess of Feria. Naty Abascal has been recognized for her great style, being part of the International Best Dressed List since 1984.

Early Life and Family
Naty Abascal was born in Seville, Spain. Her father, Domingo Abascal y Fernández, was a wealthy lawyer. He owned a large olive farm in Andalusia. Her mother was María Natividad Romero-Toro y Noriega. Naty was born with a twin sister and grew up in a big family with 12 children.
Modeling Career
Naty Abascal's journey into fashion began in 1964.
Starting in New York
Spanish fashion designer Elio Berhanyer asked Naty and her twin sister, Ana María, to model his clothes. This was at an exhibition in New York. A famous photographer named Richard Avedon noticed them. He took pictures of them in Ibiza for a magazine called Harper's Bazaar. By 1965, Naty was on the cover of Harper's Bazaar, photographed by Avedon. After this, her modeling career really took off. She moved to New York City to continue her work.
Working with Top Designers
Naty worked with many famous designers. She became great friends with Oscar de la Renta early in his career. Their friendship lasted for many years. In 1968, she met designer Valentino. She was 25 and already a full-time model in New York. Valentino invited her to the island of Capri for photo shoots. They have been close friends ever since.
Other Projects and Return to Spain
In 1971, Naty Abascal had a small role in Woody Allen's film Bananas. She also appeared on the cover of Andy Warhol's magazine Interview. In 1974, she worked with the famous artist Salvador Dalí on a commercial.
Towards the end of 1975, Naty moved back to her home in Seville, Spain.
Personal Life
Naty Abascal married Murray Livingstone Smith in 1971. He worked for an advertising agency. They met in New York City. They were married for a few years before they separated in 1975.
In 1977, Naty married Rafael Medina y Fernandez de Cordoba. He was the Duke of Feria and Marquis of Villalba. They had two sons:
- Rafael, born in 1978. He is now the Duke of Feria.
- Luis, born in 1980.
Naty and Rafael Medina separated in 1989.
Later Career and Style Icon
Even after leaving the fashion world, Naty Abascal made a special appearance. In the early 1980s, she walked the runway for her friend Carolina Herrera's first collection. This was her last time on the catwalk.
Naty is known as one of Valentino Garavani's special inspirations. She also has strong connections to Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera. Today, she still works regularly as a stylist for Hola! magazine and other projects. She continues to be a respected figure in the world of fashion and style.
