The Navy Wives Clubs of America (NWCA) is a national group that helps military families. It is a non-profit organization, which means it doesn't aim to make money. Instead, it uses its funds to support its goals. The NWCA is made up of spouses of people serving in the United States Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
Their main goals are to support the Constitution of the United States, help military families connect, and do good deeds for the community. The NWCA has a special federal charter. This charter allows them to carry out their important work.

History of the NWCA
The Navy Wives Clubs of America started a long time ago. It was first created in 1936 in Long Beach, California. Many years later, in 1984, it received a special federal charter. This charter officially recognized the NWCA as an important national organization.
In 2017, members made a big change. They voted to allow male spouses of military members to join as regular members. Before this, only wives could be regular members. In 2018, the NWCA decided to also use the name Military Families Worldwide. This new name helps show that they support all military families. The NWCA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This means it is a charity that helps people and doesn't pay taxes on its income. The NWCA's official motto is: "They also serve, who stay and wait." This motto honors the families who support military members from home.
Who Can Join the NWCA?
Joining the NWCA means becoming part of a supportive community. There are two main types of membership:
Active Membership
You can become an active member if you are the spouse of someone serving in the United States Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard. This also includes spouses of those in the active reserve units of these services. Spouses of military personnel who have honorably left service or retired can also join. Even widows of enlisted personnel from these services are welcome to become active members.
Associate Membership
Associate membership is for spouses of people in the Army or Air Force. It is also open to spouses of officers. If you share the same goals as the NWCA but don't fit the active membership rules, you can still join as an associate member.
Helping Others Through Volunteering
NWCA groups, called Chapters, are located all over the country. These Chapters often take part in special events to help others.
One important event they participate in is Wreaths Across America. This event happens every year. During Wreaths Across America, thousands of wreaths are placed on graves at veteran's cemeteries. This is a way to honor and remember those who served our country. NWCA members help lay these wreaths as a sign of respect.
Scholarships for Your Future
The NWCA offers several scholarships. Scholarships are like gifts of money that help students pay for college or other education. These scholarships help military families achieve their education goals.
The NWCA National Scholarship Foundation
Each year, the NWCA offers thirty scholarship chances. These scholarships are for the children of Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine personnel. It helps them get money for their studies.
Mary Paolozzi Member's Scholarship
This scholarship is only for members of the NWCA. It helps members who want to continue their education.
The NMCCG Scholarship
This scholarship is special because it is only for spouses. It helps spouses of enlisted Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard members. This scholarship supports them as they continue their education.
Judith Haupt Member's Child Scholarship
This scholarship is for a child of an NWCA member. It is for children who might not have a military ID card. This often happens if they have reached adulthood.
Pauline Langkamp Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is also for a child of an NWCA member. Like the Judith Haupt scholarship, it helps children who are adults or have married.
