Neda Ukraden (born August 16, 1950) is a famous singer from the Balkan region. She is known for her long and successful music career. Neda started singing professionally in 1967. She has released many albums over the years. She is one of the most successful artists from what was once Yugoslavia. She has sold over five million records.

Neda Ukraden's Early Life
Neda Ukraden was born in a small village called Glavina Donja. This village is near the town of Imotski in Croatia. Her parents were Anđelija and Dušan Ukraden.
She lived with her grandparents in Imotski until she was two years old. Then, her family moved to Višegrad in Bosnia and Herzegovina. When Neda was in elementary school, her family moved again. They settled in Sarajevo, where she lived until 1992.
Moving During the Bosnian War
In 1992, a conflict known as the Bosnian War began. Because of the war, Neda moved to Belgrade, Serbia. For a few years, from 1992 to 1996, she also rented an apartment in Vienna, Austria.
Education and Starting Music
Neda's father wanted her to get a good education. She went to the University of Sarajevo. There, she earned degrees in Law, Philology (the study of language), and the English language. Even with her studies, she found her passion for music. She started singing when she was 17 years old.
Family Life
Neda Ukraden was married to a director named Milan Bilbija. They had one daughter together, named Jelena. Milan Bilbija passed away on January 30, 2013.
