Nesbitt is a small place in Harrison County, Texas, in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community." This means it doesn't have its own separate town government anymore.
Nesbitt used to be a town, but its local government stopped on January 1, 2000. Even so, it was still counted as a town during the 2010 census. At that time, about 281 people lived there.

Where is Nesbitt Located?
Nesbitt is in the middle part of Harrison County. You can find it about 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Marshall. Marshall is the main city, or "county seat," of Harrison County. Nesbitt is located right along Texas State Highway 154.
The United States Census Bureau says that Nesbitt covers a total area of 4.5 square kilometers (about 1.7 square miles). All of this area is land, with no water.
Who Lives in Nesbitt?
In the year 2000, there were 302 people living in Nesbitt. These people lived in 115 different homes. About 83 of these homes were families.
Most of the people in Nesbitt were White (about 80%). Around 18% were African American. A small number (less than 1%) were Native American or from two or more races.
Many homes (about 31%) had children under 18 living there. Most homes (59%) were married couples living together. The average home had about 2.6 people.
Fire and Community Services
Nesbitt has its own fire department called Harrison County ESD#2 Nesbitt Fire Department. This fire department is run entirely by volunteers. They are led by Chief Gary Smith.
The Nesbitt Fire Department has three different stations. Besides fighting fires, they also help the community in other ways. They host local elections and events like National Night Out. They also hold community gatherings, such as Cub Scout Awards Banquets.
If you want to learn more, the department meetings happen on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. They start at 7:00 PM at Station #3.
Learning and Schools
Students in Nesbitt go to schools in the Marshall Independent School District. For elementary school, students are zoned to P.T. Young Elementary School.
Older students attend Marshall Junior High School and Marshall High School. In the past, younger students went to Moore Elementary and Sam Houston Middle School.
For college, most of Harrison County, including Nesbitt, is served by Panola College. This is according to the Texas Education Code.
