New Bedford is found in the northwest part of Lawrence County. It sits right on the border with the state of Ohio.
Roads and Travel
U.S. Route 422 runs along the southern edge of New Bedford. This highway can take you about 10 miles (16 km) southeast to New Castle, which is the main city in Lawrence County. If you head west on the same highway, you'll reach Youngstown, Ohio, about 8 miles (13 km) away.
Pennsylvania Route 208 goes through the middle of New Bedford. This route leads east about 4 miles (6.4 km) to the village of Pulaski and Interstate 376.

Most of the water in the community flows northeast into Deer Creek. This creek then flows east into the Shenango River. However, the very southwest part of New Bedford drains south into Coffee Run, which is a small stream that flows into the Mahoning River.
