A Look Back: New Lebanon's History
New Lebanon was first planned out in 1843. This means its streets and lots were officially mapped. A post office was set up in 1847 and was called Medill. The name of the post office changed to New Lebanon in 1849. New Lebanon officially became a village in 1878.
