Newburg is a small, unincorporated community. It is located in Fillmore County, in the state of Minnesota, United States. An unincorporated community is a place where people live, but it does not have its own local government like a city or town.
History
Newburg was officially planned and mapped out in 1853. This process is called "platting." It means the streets and land lots were laid out for future homes and businesses.
A post office was opened in Newburg in 1855. This allowed people to send and receive mail right in their community. The post office served the area for many years. However, it closed down in 1902.
