Ngalakgan Traditional Lands
The Ngalakgan people traditionally lived on a large area of land. This land was about 7,770 square kilometers (3,000 square miles). It stretched north from the Roper River up to a place called Mainoru. Their land also went from east of the Wilton River to the upper parts of Maiwok and Flying Fox creeks.
The Ngalakgan shared borders with several other Indigenous groups:
- The Jawoyn people lived directly to their west.
- The Dalabon people were to their northwest.
- The Rembarrnga people lived just north of them.
- The Ngandi and Yukul people were to their east.
- The Alawa people lived on their southern side.
