Niall Wright's Acting Journey
Niall started acting when he was a child. He went to the Gwyneth Murdock School of Drama to learn the basics. Later, he studied acting professionally at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in Bristol, England. He also studied for a business degree at University College Dublin in Ireland.
Early Roles in Film and TV
Niall's first big role was in 2004. He played a character named Jonjo in a Northern Irish comedy-drama film called Mickybo and Me.
In 2008, Niall starred in a short film titled James. This film was very successful! It won many international awards and was even shown at famous film festivals like the Sundance Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival.
From 2012 to 2013, Niall was a regular on the TV series Six Degrees. He played a character named Danny Burns. He also appeared in the third series of the show in 2015.
In 2013, he acted in the comedy-drama film Good Vibrations. In this movie, he played the role of Mickey Bradley.
Starring in Dani's Castle
One of Niall's most well-known roles for young audiences was on the CBBC show Dani's Castle. From 2013 to 2015, he played one of the main characters, Gabe. He also played other characters, Carlos and Gerard, in the third series.
Stage Performances
Niall also loves acting on stage! In 2015, he performed in his first play at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, Ireland. He played Joseph Swane in a play called By the Bog of Cats.
In 2017, he joined the cast of a play called The Ferryman. He played the role of JJ Carney. This play started at the Royal Court Theatre in London and then moved to the Gielgud Theatre in the West End, which is a famous theater district.
In October 2018, Niall made his big debut on Broadway in New York City. He played JJ Carney again in The Ferryman at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

More recently, from 2021 to 2024, Niall played a main character in the BBC and BritBox TV series Hope Street. He played PC Callum McCarthy, a police officer, in this show.
