This lake was created in 1961 when the Seeger Dam was built on Nicasio Creek. The Seeger Dam is 115 feet (35 meters) tall and 400 feet (122 meters) long. It is an earthen dam, meaning it is made of earth. The Marin Municipal Water District owns and manages this important dam.
