Later, in 1921, General Chemical became part of a bigger company called Allied Chemical, which was also owned by William H. Nichols.

Becoming Allied Chemical
Years later, in 1921, the General Chemical Company joined with other companies. It became a part of a bigger company called Allied Chemical. This new, larger company was also connected to William H. Nichols. Eventually, Allied Chemical changed its name to Allied Corporation.
