Nicole Jaffe (born May 23, 1941) is a Canadian actress and businesswoman. She is best known as the first voice of Velma Dinkley in the popular Scooby-Doo cartoons. After her acting career, she became a very successful talent agent.

Nicole Jaffe's Early Career
Nicole Jaffe started her acting career in the late 1960s. She appeared in a few movies, including The Love Bug (1968) by Disney. She also acted alongside Elvis Presley in the movie The Trouble with Girls (1969).
Becoming Velma Dinkley
One of Nicole Jaffe's most famous roles was on stage. She played the character Patty in a play called You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. A director from Hanna-Barbera saw her performance. This led to her auditioning for the voice of Velma Dinkley. She got the part and became the original voice of Velma in Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! starting in 1969.
Scooby-Doo Adventures
Nicole Jaffe voiced Velma for the first two seasons of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!. When the actress who voiced Daphne left the show, Nicole suggested her roommate, Heather North. Heather then became the voice of Daphne for many years. Nicole continued to voice Velma in the spin-off series The New Scooby-Doo Movies from 1972 to 1974.
Life After Acting
In 1973, Nicole Jaffe decided to stop acting. She started a new career as a talent agent. This means she helped actors and other entertainers find jobs. She became known as Nicole David after she married Brad David.
A Top Talent Agent
Nicole David became a very important person in the entertainment business. She helped create a talent agency called Rifkin/David. This agency later joined a bigger company called Triad Artists. In 1992, Triad Artists was sold to the famous William Morris Agency. Nicole David worked as a senior agent there for many years. She helped many famous people with their careers, including John Travolta, Whitney Houston, and Elijah Wood.
Returning to Scooby-Doo
Even after retiring from acting, Nicole David sometimes returned to voice Velma. She did this for special Scooby-Doo projects between 1977 and 2003. Her last voice roles as Velma were in two direct-to-video movies: Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire and Scooby-Doo! and the Monster of Mexico.
