Nicole Stephanie Danielle Lyn (born February 24, 1978) is a talented Canadian actress. She is well-known for her roles as Susan Kushner in the TV series Ramona. She also played Emily Roberts in the Canadian teen comedy show Student Bodies.
Early Life and Beginnings
Nicole Lyn was born in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Her mother, Cheryl Gabay, is Jamaican and of Afro-Jamaican background. Her father, Peter Lyn, is Chinese-Jamaican. Nicole grew up in the Toronto area.
From a young age, Nicole showed a love for the arts. She danced in the Junior Dance division of the National Ballet School. She was also a member of the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus.
Nicole got her start in show business by chance. She went with her aunt, who was a model, to an audition. There, Nicole was offered a spot on a Jordache billboard. This was her first step into the entertainment world.
Journey in Acting
At age 10, Nicole auditioned for and was accepted into the Claude Watson School for the Arts. She started working on commercials and had guest roles on TV shows. She also had a co-starring role in the Canadian kids' comedy Eric's World in 1991.
Later, she attended Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts in Toronto from grades 7 to 9. Here, she focused on dance.
In grade 10, Nicole moved to Jamaica, where her father lived. She attended Belair High School in Mandeville.
After returning to Canada, Nicole auditioned for the YTV teen sitcom Student Bodies in 1997. She landed a main role on the show. She acted alongside other young stars like Jamie Elman and Jennifer Finnigan.
Nicole's first acting role was in the television series Ramona.
She has also made guest appearances on many popular TV shows. These include The Kids in the Hall, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and Psych. She was a regular actress in the Canadian shows Eric's World and Student Bodies.
Nicole has also appeared in TV films. These include "The Feast Of All Saints" and On Thin Ice: The Tai Babilonia Story. She also acted in the movie Deliver Us From Eva.
Beyond acting, Nicole also works as a DJ. She goes by the name "Ms. Nix." She has also been an announcer on MTV2's Hip Hop Squares.
Personal Life
Nicole Lyn married actor Dulé Hill on July 10, 2004. They later separated.
In 2014, she started a relationship with Chad Easterling. Nicole gave birth to her son, Crosby Sparrow Easterling, on June 13, 2018.
