The Nicolet North-East River is a river in Quebec, Canada. It's like a smaller stream that flows into a bigger river called the Nicolet Centre River. This river then joins the Nicolet Southwest River, and eventually, all these waters flow into the mighty St. Lawrence River! The Nicolet North-East River runs through a town called Wotton, in a region known as Les Sources Regional County Municipality.

Where the River Flows

Imagine the land around the river like a big puzzle. The Nicolet North-East River has neighboring rivers and streams!

The Nicolet North-East River starts its journey in a place called Saint-Adrien. This is very close to another town called Notre-Dame-de-Ham. The river begins from small streams in an area known as the 3rd rang, near a road called Chemin du 2e Rang.

The two main streams that flow into the Nicolet North-East River are the Bissonnette River and the rivière chez Larrivée.

The Nicolet North-East River finally empties into the north side of the Nicolet Centre River. This meeting point is about 1.4 kilometers (0.87 miles) upstream from where the Nicolet Centre River itself ends. It's also about 0.7 kilometers (0.43 miles) downstream from where the Duchesne stream joins.

What's in a Name?

The official name "Rivière Nicolet Nord-Est" was made public on December 5, 1968. This was done by the Commission de toponymie du Québec, which is like a special group that names places in Quebec.
