Nicolette Love Suwoton, known simply as Nicolette, is a talented singer and songwriter from Scotland. She was born in 1964. Even though she was born in Scotland, she has lived in many places. These include London, Nigeria, Switzerland, France, and Belgium.

Her music is mostly electronic. However, it also mixes in sounds from jazz, classical music, blues, folk, and African music. Two of her most famous songs are "Sly" (with the group Massive Attack) and "No Government". Both of these songs were very popular and appeared on the music charts in the UK.

Nicolette's Music Journey

Nicolette has released three albums of her own music. She also created a special DJ mix album for the DJ-Kicks series. She sang on two songs, "Three" and "Sly", for Massive Attack's 1994 album, Protection.

She has worked with many other artists in electronic music. Some of these include Plaid, Alec Empire, and 4hero. In 1995, she signed with the Talkin' Loud record label. That's when she released her single "No Government".

Starting Her Own Record Label

In 1999, Nicolette decided to start her own record label. She called it Early Records. She wanted to release unique and interesting pop songs through her own label. Nicolette says that Early Records focuses on "innovative pop music." Her 2005 album, Life Loves Us, was released through this label. She also released one single and an EP (a shorter music collection) from that album the next year.

Recent Projects and Acting

In 2007, her song "No Government" was re-released. It featured new mixes by DJ Tocadisco and Makossa & Megablast. In 2008, Nicolette sang on the song "Desire" for John Tejada's album Where. She also helped write that song.

She released a song called "Love" with DJ Cam in March 2010. More recently, she worked with Samuel Yirga on his album and released an EP. Nicolette also tried acting! She appeared in the film "Queen of Montreuil" by Solveig Anspach. Her newest album, "The Infinitive", is expected to be released in 2025.
