Nils Erik "Dubbel-Nisse" Nilsson (born March 8, 1936 – died June 24, 2017) was a super talented Swedish athlete. He was famous for playing both ice hockey and football. Nils played in 205 international ice hockey games for Sweden, scoring an amazing 131 goals! This made him one of the top goal scorers in Swedish ice hockey history.

Ice Hockey Achievements
Nils Nilsson was a key player for the Swedish national ice hockey team, often called Tre Kronor. He helped his team win the World Championships twice! They took home the gold medal in 1957 and again in 1962. He also helped them win silver medals in 1963 and 1967, and bronze medals in 1958 and 1965.
Olympic Games
Nils also competed in the Winter Olympics three times.
- In 1956, his team finished in fourth place.
- In 1960, they came in fifth.
- In 1964, they won a silver medal, which was a fantastic achievement!
At the 1960 Olympics, Nils was recognized as the best forward of the whole tournament. He was also chosen for the all-star team at the 1962 World Championships. This means he was considered one of the very best players in the world.
Special Awards and Honors
Nils Nilsson received many special awards during his career.
- In 1966, he won the Goldpucken award. This award is given to the best Swedish ice hockey player each year.
- In 1967, he received the Rinkens riddare award. This award celebrates players who show great sportsmanship and fair play.
- He was also selected for the Swedish all-star team multiple times: in 1959, 1960, 1962, 1965, and 1967.
In 2002, Nils Nilsson was given a huge honor. He was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame. This is like a special club for the greatest ice hockey players of all time from around the world.
Football Career
Besides ice hockey, Nils Nilsson was also a skilled football player. He played for several teams, including Djurgårdens IF. With Djurgårdens IF, he even won a national football title in 1959!
Life After Sports
After he stopped playing professional sports, Nils Nilsson continued to be involved in the world of sports equipment. He worked as a product developer for Jofa, a famous Swedish company that makes sporting goods.
Death
Nils Nilsson passed away in Stockholm, Sweden on June 24, 2017. He was 81 years old.
