Personal Life and Background
Noa Kirel was born in the city of Ra'anana, Israel. Her parents were also born in Israel. Her family has roots in different parts of the world. Her mother's family is of Sephardi Jewish and Mizrahi Jewish (from Morocco) descent, and her father's family is of Ashkenazi Jewish (from Austria) descent. Some of her relatives on her father's side were victims of the Holocaust.
When she was a baby, her name was Noia. At three months old, she had a serious kidney illness. A rabbi suggested changing her name to Noa, which means "movement" in Hebrew. He joked that she might become a dancer one day. Thankfully, she recovered but has only one working kidney.
From 2020 to 2022, Kirel served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). She was part of a special military band, which is a common way for musicians to complete their required service in Israel.
Kirel was in a relationship with model and actor Tomer HaCohen from 2021 to early 2023. Since July 2023, she has been dating Israeli soccer player Daniel Peretz. They got engaged in September 2024.
Music Career
Early Start (2015–2017)
Kirel first became known through an Israeli TV show called Pushers. The show followed talented kids and their parents who helped them achieve their dreams. It showed Kirel and her father working on her music career.
In 2015, she released her first song, "Medabrim?" ("Talking?"), on YouTube. It was a hit, and she quickly released another song called "Killer." The music video for "Killer" got a lot of attention because she was so young.
She released more popular songs like "Yesh Bi Ahava" ("There's Love in Me") and "Ten Li Siman" ("Give Me a Sign"). Her music was played all over Israeli radio. In 2016, she won the "Singer of the Year" award at the Israeli Kids' Choice Awards.
Becoming a TV Star (2018–2019)
In 2018, at just 16 years old, Kirel became one of the youngest judges ever on a major TV show when she joined Israel's Got Talent.
She also starred in her own TV series called Kfula. In the show, she played two characters: herself and a blogger named Kitty Popper. The show was very popular with young audiences in Israel.
During this time, she continued to release hit songs and collaborated with other famous Israeli artists. In 2018, she was chosen to represent Israel at the MTV Europe Music Awards for the second time.
Going International (2020–Present)
In 2020, Kirel's career took a huge step forward when she signed a contract with the American music label Atlantic Records. This meant she would start making music for a global audience.
On July 14, 2021, she released her first international single, "Please Don't Suck." She followed it up with other English-language songs like "Bad Little Thing" and "Thought About That." She even performed "Bad Little Thing" at the Miss Universe 2021 pageant.
In July 2024, it was announced that Kirel and Atlantic Records had decided to part ways. She continues to be a major star, releasing music with her Israeli labels.
Eurovision Song Contest 2023
In 2022, Israel's public broadcaster, Kan 11, announced that they had chosen Noa Kirel to represent the country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
Her song for the contest was "Unicorn", which she helped write. The song is about feeling strong and unique. Kirel's performance in the competition was powerful and included an incredible dance break.
She easily made it through the semi-final and into the Grand Final. In the end, she finished in an impressive third place, which was one of Israel's best results in years.

Besides music, Noa Kirel is also an actress. In 2017, she starred in the teen movie Nearly Famous. She has also provided the Hebrew voice for the character DJ Suki in the animated movie Trolls.
In 2025, a romantic comedy series called "NOA" was announced. Kirel stars in the series, which was filmed in Argentina. She also stars in a futuristic series called Wonder, where a detective investigates a mysterious car crash.
