The Journey of Noah
Starting as Peterpan
The band began their journey by playing music in small cafés. They became well-known in 2002 after recording a song called "Mimpi yang Sempurna" for a special album. Their first full album, Taman Langit, came out in 2003.
Their fame grew even more in 2004 with their second album, Bintang di Surga. This album was a huge hit, selling over three million copies! It also won many awards, including "Best of the Best Album" at the Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) awards. Their third album, a soundtrack for the 2005 movie Alexandria, also sold over a million copies. Peterpan won two MTV Asia Awards for "Favorite Artist Indonesia."
Changing to Noah
In 2006, two original members, Andika and Indra, left the band. David joined the band that same year. Because of these changes, the band decided to change their name in 2009. They planned to announce the new name in 2010, but the announcement was delayed for a while.
After some time, in 2012, the band finally announced their new name: Noah! They quickly became popular again with their first album as Noah, called Seperti Seharusnya. This album was a massive success, selling more than 1.9 million copies in Indonesia. It also won them another "Best of the Best Album" award at the AMI Awards.
Recent Years and Achievements
Reza, the drummer, left the band in 2015. Around the same time, Noah released their second album, Second Chance. They even worked with a famous music producer named Steve Lillywhite on this album. Later, Uki also left the band in 2019, after they released the album Keterkaitan Keterikatan. This album also won an AMI Award for "Best of the Best Album."
