Coaching and Managerial Career

After he stopped playing, Ueno started a new path as a football coach. He has managed several teams and helped many players.

Early Coaching Days

Ueno began his coaching career at Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 1995. He spent many years there, coaching the main team and managing the youth teams. In 2004, he became the manager for the Japan U-20 national team.

Working with Different Clubs

From 2005 to 2008, he worked with Kyoto Purple Sanga (now Kyoto Sanga FC). He was mainly a coach for their top team. In 2009, he moved to Zweigen Kanazawa, a club in the Regional Leagues. Under his guidance, the club moved up to the Japan Football League (JFL) in 2010. He managed them until 2011.

Success with Renofa Yamaguchi
