Nobuhiro Ueno (上野 展裕, Ueno Nobuhiro, born August 26, 1965) is a former Japanese football player. He was known for playing as a defender. Today, he works as a fitness coach and tactical advisor for a Vietnamese club called Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc.

Playing Career: A Defender's Journey
Nobuhiro Ueno was born in Koka, Japan, on August 26, 1965. After finishing his studies at Waseda University, he began his professional football journey.
Starting Out with All Nippon Airways
In 1988, Ueno joined a team called All Nippon Airways. He made his first appearance in February 1990. During his time there, he played in a few matches.
Moving to Sanfrecce Hiroshima
In 1991, he moved to Mazda, which later became Sanfrecce Hiroshima. Here, he played many games. He was an important player, often playing as a center back or a defensive midfielder. He helped protect his team's goal. Ueno retired from playing football at the end of the 1994 season.
International Experience
In 1988, Nobuhiro Ueno was chosen to be part of the Japan national "B team". This team was preparing for the 1988 Asian Cup. Although he was selected, he did not get to play in any of the matches during the tournament.
Coaching and Managerial Career
After he stopped playing, Ueno started a new path as a football coach. He has managed several teams and helped many players.
Early Coaching Days
Ueno began his coaching career at Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 1995. He spent many years there, coaching the main team and managing the youth teams. In 2004, he became the manager for the Japan U-20 national team.
Working with Different Clubs
From 2005 to 2008, he worked with Kyoto Purple Sanga (now Kyoto Sanga FC). He was mainly a coach for their top team. In 2009, he moved to Zweigen Kanazawa, a club in the Regional Leagues. Under his guidance, the club moved up to the Japan Football League (JFL) in 2010. He managed them until 2011.
In 2012, he joined Albirex Niigata. He coached their youth team. For a short time in May 2012, he even took over as the main manager for the top team. This happened when the previous manager left.
Success with Renofa Yamaguchi
In 2014, Ueno became the manager of Renofa Yamaguchi. This was a very successful period for him and the club.
- In 2014, the team finished fourth in the JFL. This allowed them to move up to the J3 League.
- In 2015, Renofa Yamaguchi won the J3 League championship! This meant they were promoted again, this time to the J2 League.
However, in May 2017, he left the club.
Later Managerial Roles
In May 2018, Ueno became the manager for Ventforet Kofu, a J2 League club. He stayed with them until the end of that year. In July 2021, he was appointed manager of Kagoshima United. He managed them for half a season.
On January 5, 2023, Ueno became the new manager for Fukuyama City FC. They play in the Chūgoku Soccer League. In September 2024, he moved to Vietnam. He now works as a fitness coach and tactical advisor for Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc.
