Noemí de Miguel's Early Life and Education

Noemí de Miguel was born in Autol, a town in La Rioja, Spain. She grew up at her grandparents' house. Her parents worked a lot, so her grandparents took care of her. She watched many different sports on TV with them.

When she was young, Noemí was asked if she wanted to be a doctor. But she knew she wanted to be a sports journalist. Her father had encouraged her to study hard. He wanted her to aim for a good career, not just professional basketball.

Noemí left Autol to study journalism. She moved to Bilbao and attended the University of Bilbao. She finished her master's degree in 2002. After that, she did a three-year internship at Radio Arnedo.

Starting Her Career in Sports Journalism

Noemí de Miguel then moved to Madrid. She passed the tests to become a sports reporter for Radio Nacional de España (RNE). This was the start of her professional journey. She began working for RNE in 2002.

For the next three years, Noemí worked on sports shows. She contributed to programs like Tablero deportivo and Radiogaceta de los deportes.

Moving to Canal+

In late 2005, Noemí's contract with RNE ended. She received a call from Canal+, a television channel. They were looking for a female sports reporter. Noemí took the job. She didn't want to go back to Autol and ask her parents for money. She also worked for a newspaper in Madrid.

She started at Canal+ in November 2005. Her main job was covering football. She reported from the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. She also covered big football events. These included the UEFA Champions League and La Liga. She was also at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. And she covered UEFA Euro 2012.

Becoming a Formula One Presenter

By late 2015, Noemí wanted a new challenge. She felt she wasn't growing enough in her job. Movistar+, another broadcaster, was looking for a new presenter. They had taken over the rights to show Formula One racing.

In February 2016, it was announced that Noemí would be the new presenter. She replaced Lucía Villalón from Antena 3. Some people online were unsure about her. They criticized her because she had mostly covered football. But Noemí found it easy to learn about Formula One. Her first event was the 2016 Australian Grand Prix.

In 2020, Formula One races were stopped. This was due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Noemí started a Movistar+ show called Parque cerrado. This show helped her stay in touch with people in the racing world.
