Norio Omura (小村 徳男, Omura Norio, born September 6, 1969) is a Japanese former football player and manager. He was a strong defender who played for many clubs and also represented the Japan national team from 1995 to 1998.

Playing Career: Norio Omura's Journey
Norio Omura was born in Matsue, Japan, on September 6, 1969. After finishing university, he joined Yokohama Marinos in 1992. This club later became known as Yokohama F. Marinos.
Success with Yokohama F. Marinos
During the 1990s, Omura played as a central defender. He often teamed up with Masami Ihara, another player from the Japan national team. Together, they formed a strong defense.
- The club won the 1992 Emperor's Cup, a major football tournament in Japan.
- They also won the 1992–93 Asian Cup Winners' Cup, which is a competition for clubs in Asia.
- In 1995, Yokohama F. Marinos became champions of the J1 League, Japan's top football league.
- In the early 2000s, the club finished second in the 2000 J1 League.

Moving to New Teams
After his time at Yokohama F. Marinos, Omura moved to Vegalta Sendai in 2002. He then joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 2004. In 2006, he played less often, so he moved to Yokohama FC, a club in the J2 League. In 2008, he joined Gainare Tottori in the Japan Football League. Norio Omura retired from playing football at the end of the 2008 season.
International Career: Playing for Japan
Norio Omura made his first appearance for the Japan national team on May 21, 1995. This was in a match against Scotland.
Becoming a Regular Player
In 1996, he became a regular player for Japan. He continued to play as a central defender, often alongside his club teammate Masami Ihara. He played in every one of Japan's matches at the 1996 AFC Asian Cup. In 1997, he played in the qualification matches for the 1998 FIFA World Cup. However, he started to play less often for the national team.
Playing in the World Cup
In 1998, Norio Omura was part of the Japan squad that played in the 1998 FIFA World Cup. He played in one game during the tournament, against Jamaica. This was his last game for Japan. Overall, he played 30 games for Japan and scored four goals between 1995 and 1998.
Coaching Career: A New Role
In 2013, Norio Omura became the manager for Gainare Tottori, the same club he played for at the end of his career. However, the team did not perform well that year. He was removed from his position in August 2013. At that time, Gainare Tottori was in 20th place out of 22 clubs in their league.
