Norman (also known as Norman Station) is a small place in Indiana, United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
Norman is located in Jackson County, in the northwestern part of Owen Township. You can find it along State Road 58. It's northwest of Brownstown, which is the main town and government center for Jackson County.
Even though Norman doesn't have its own government, it does have a post office. Its ZIP code is 47264. For a while, the community had two names, but in 1943, the official U.S. board decided "Norman" would be the only name.
History of Norman
Norman was started in the year 1889. It was named after the person who founded it, John A. Norman.
The post office in Norman first opened in 1890. Back then, it was called Norman Station. Later, in 1935, its name was officially changed to just Norman.
