Normandale is a quiet suburb in Lower Hutt City, New Zealand. It's located on the western hills of the Hutt Valley, giving it a peaceful, almost countryside feel.
The suburb is mainly made up of two roads, Normandale Road and Miromiro Road, and the hills around them. It's only about a five-minute drive from the center of Lower Hutt City.
Normandale is home to some amazing green spaces. You'll find the historic Jubilee Park here, which is a woodland reserve. Part of Belmont Regional Park, Wellington's biggest regional park, is also in Normandale. This means there are many smaller areas of native bush, so you'll often see native birds flying around. Since 2019, a project called Predator Free 2050 has been working in Normandale. It helps protect birds by reducing animals that hunt them.
Besides homes, Normandale has a primary school, a Playcentre (for young children), a church, and places for pets like a cattery and a dog boarding kennel. Because it's an older suburb built on narrow, steep hills, you'll notice lots of trees everywhere.
