History of North Coventry Township
This township got its name from Coventry, a city in England. An early settler who came to this area was originally from Coventry, England.
In 2001, a special area called the Pottstown Landing Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's a place with important buildings or sites that tell us about the past.
Geography and Nature
North Coventry Township covers about 13.6 square miles. Most of this area is land, but about 0.2 square miles is water. The Schuylkill River flows along its northern edge, forming a natural border with Montgomery County.
Some smaller communities within the township include Cedarville, Cold Spring Park, Kenilworth, Pottstown Landing, Schenkel, South Pottstown, and Titlow Corner. Part of the township is also located within the Hopewell Big Woods, a large forested area.
