Where is North Taunton?
North Taunton is located in the northern part of Taunton. It shares its southern border with other neighborhoods like Whittenton, Whittenton Junction, and Oakland. To the east, it touches the town of Raynham. On its western side, you'll find the town of Norton. And to the north, it borders the town of Easton.
Getting Around North Taunton
The main highway that goes through North Taunton is Interstate 495. This highway runs from the northwest to the southeast. Bay Street is an important road. It connects North Taunton to the Whittenton neighborhood and the rest of Taunton city.
Nature and Water in North Taunton
A large part of the Hockomock Swamp Wildlife Management Area is found in the northern sections of North Taunton. This area is important for wildlife. Lake Sabbatia is the biggest body of water in this neighborhood. This lake is also where the Mill River begins. The Mill River then flows through the downtown area of Taunton. Close to Lake Sabbatia, you can also find Watson Pond State Park, a great place for outdoor activities.
