The Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC) is the biggest cultural spot in the Inland Northwest region. It has five galleries located underground. You can also find a café, a store, and an education center here. There is even a special room for community events.

The museum also has a Center for Plateau Cultural Studies. This center helps people learn about the history and culture of the Plateau tribes. These are the Native American groups who have lived in this region for a very long time.

The Historic Campbell House

The MAC also takes care of the Campbell House. This historic home was built in 1898. It was designed by a famous architect named Kirtland Cutter. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

You can take tours of the Campbell House. It shows what life was like for a wealthy family in Spokane around the year 1900. It's like stepping back in time!

What You Can See and Do

The MAC campus is more than just the main museum building. Besides the Campbell House, it has a library and archives. These are places where important old documents and books are kept. There is also an auditorium for shows and an outdoor amphitheater for events.

The museum's exhibits and programs focus on three main areas. They teach about American Indian cultures and other cultures from around the world. They also explore the history of the Inland Northwest region. Finally, they showcase amazing visual art.

The Joel E. Ferris Research Library & Archives is open if you make an appointment. It's a great place for anyone who wants to do deep research.
