Ali John Meredith-Lacey (born August 11, 1991) is a talented musician from Wales. He is best known by his stage name, Novo Amor. He is a singer, songwriter, and can play many instruments. He also designs sounds and produces music.

Novo Amor's Musical Journey
Ali John Meredith-Lacey was born on August 11, 1991, in Llanidloes, Wales. He now lives in Cardiff. His first music release as Novo Amor was a two-song single called Drift in 2012.
Early Releases and Collaborations
Novo Amor's first EP, Woodgate, NY, came out on March 31, 2014. It was released by Brilliance Records. After this success, he worked with another artist, Ed Tullett, on the single "Faux" in June 2014.
Later that year, he released another single called "Callow". In 2015, he covered the famous song "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N' Roses. This cover was used in an advertisement. He also toured in Europe that year.
In 2016, he released "Alps," another song with Ed Tullett.
Growing Success with EPs and Albums
On May 26, 2017, Novo Amor released his second EP, Bathing Beach. Later that year, on November 10, 2017, he and Ed Tullett released their full album together, called Heiress.
On June 14, 2018, Novo Amor announced his first solo album, Birthplace. It was released on October 19, 2018. To promote the album, he created a special music video for the song "Birthplace."
The "Birthplace" Music Video
The music video for "Birthplace" showed how people are harming the ocean. It featured a free diver and a large model of a whale. This whale model was made from plastic collected by school children. The video won an award for 'Independent Video of the Year'.
Recent Projects and Inspirations
In 2019, Novo Amor toured with Gia Margaret. They also recorded two songs together, "Lucky For You" and "No Fun."
He then started working on his second solo album in August 2019. This album, Cannot Be, Whatsoever, was released on November 6, 2020. Its cover art was a special embroidery by artist Tilleke Schwarz.
On July 29, 2022, Novo Amor released an instrumental album called Antarctican Dream Machine. He recorded this album while on a research trip to Antarctica with Greenpeace. He wanted to capture the feeling of being there.
His newest album, Collapse List, was announced on February 23, 2024, and released on April 5, 2024. The album's title was inspired by a podcast. It talks about things that needed to change in his life.
Novo Amor's songs have also been featured in movies like Five Feet Apart and Elite. His music was also in the video game Life is Strange: True Colors.
