Nuevo Rocafuerte is a small town located in Ecuador, a country in South America. It is the main town, or capital, of a region called Aguarico Canton. This canton is part of the Orellana Province. Nuevo Rocafuerte is quite special because it sits right on the border with Peru.

Nuevo Rocafuerte was founded in 1942. Before this town was built, the people lived in a different settlement nearby. A battle took place, which caused the people to move from their original homes. Later, agreements were made about the border between Ecuador and Peru. These agreements made Nuevo Rocafuerte an important spot right on the border.
