Nunam Iqua, once known as Sheldon Point, is a small city in Alaska. It is located in the Kusilvak Census Area. In 2010, about 187 people lived there. By 2020, the population grew to 217.
The name Nunam Iqua comes from the Yupik people. It means "land's end." The word nuna means "land," and iquk means "end."
The city was first called Sheldon Point. This name came from a man named Sheldon. He started a fish business there in the 1930s. The city officially became a city in 1974. Later, in November 1999, people voted to change the name to Nunam Iqua.

The city first appeared on the U.S. Census in 1950. It was called "Sheldon's Point" then. In 1974, it officially became a city named Sheldon Point. In 1999, its name was changed to Nunam Iqua.
In 2000, there were 164 people living in Nunam Iqua. Most of the people living there were Native Americans. Many homes had children under 18 living in them. The population was quite young, with many people under the age of 18.
