Nuvrei is a popular bakery located in Portland, Oregon. It is also known by names like Nuvrei Bakery or Nuvrei Patisserie and Cafe. It's a great spot for delicious pastries and treats.
About Nuvrei Bakery
Nuvrei is a special kind of bakery called a pâtisserie. This means it focuses on fancy French pastries and cakes. You can find it in the Pearl District area of northwest Portland.
The menu at Nuvrei has many tasty items. Some popular choices include colorful macarons and unique pretzel croissants. They also offer sandwiches for a quick bite.
History of Nuvrei
The owner of Nuvrei is Marius Pop. He has guided the bakery through many changes over the years.
In 2010, Nuvrei shared plans to open a cafe upstairs. This new cafe officially opened its doors in October 2011. Later, in 2012, Paul Losch joined the team as a chef.
By early 2014, Nuvrei decided to add a "Macaron Bar" downstairs. This new section focused just on macarons. In January 2015, the upstairs cafe closed for a short time for updates. During this period, the downstairs area offered more seating. They also started "Brioche Week" to feature extra pastries.
When Nuvrei reopened in May 2015, it looked different and had a new menu. The bakery put a much stronger focus on its amazing pastries.
Nuvrei's Growth
Nuvrei's tasty treats became very popular. In 2015, another local business, Heart Coffee Roasters, started selling Nuvrei pastries.
In 2016, Nuvrei grew even more! They opened a second location. This new spot was called Pop Bagel and was inside the U.S. Bancorp Tower. It was a grab-and-go place, meaning it didn't have seating.
