History of Oak
The first people settled in the Oak area way back in the 1860s. The village of Oak itself was officially planned and marked out in 1888. This happened when the Fremont, Elkhorn & Missouri Valley Railroad built its tracks to this spot. Oak got its name from a nearby stream called Oak Creek.
