Oak Lawn is a lively neighborhood in Dallas, Texas, in the United States. It covers about 31 square kilometers (12 square miles). The area is officially defined by a special city plan. Its unofficial borders include Turtle Creek Boulevard, Central Expressway, the city of Highland Park, Inwood Road, and Harry Hines Boulevard.

About Oak Lawn

Oak Lawn is one of the richer areas in the Dallas region. Many people living here are professionals who work in the city. You can find many fancy townhouses, condos, apartments, and duplexes here. Near Uptown and Turtle Creek Boulevard, there are also many new tall apartment buildings. But it's also a very mixed neighborhood with older, single-family homes.

In the past, a part of Oak Lawn was known as "Little Mexico." This community had St. Anne's Catholic school as its center. Over time, as the neighborhood grew and changed, many of the old buildings were replaced. Today, St. Ann's Catholic School is now a restaurant.

Oak Lawn became a popular spot in the late 1960s. This was because apartments were cheap, and it was close to Turtle Creek Park.
