Oasis, Mono County, California facts for kids
Oasis is a very small place in California. It's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's not a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Mono County, California.
Where is Oasis?
Oasis is located in a beautiful area known as Fish Lake Valley. It's about 20 miles (32 kilometers) east of a place called Mount Bancroft. You can find Oasis right where two important roads meet: California State Route 266 and California State Route 168.
A Look at Its Past
This small community once had its own post office. The post office was open for many years, from 1873 until 1942. In the year 2000, only 22 people lived in Oasis.
