Odd Future Records was an American record label created in 2011 by the famous rapper and producer Tyler, the Creator. A record label is a company that helps artists record and sell their music. This label was part of the larger music group Odd Future and was supported by Sony Music Entertainment. The label was active for about five years before closing in 2016.

The Story of the Label

In 2011, Tyler, the Creator started Odd Future Records to give his music group, Odd Future, a way to release their own songs and albums. It was an exciting time for the group, as they now had their own official label.

However, not every member of the Odd Future group signed a contract with the new label. For example, popular artists Earl Sweatshirt and Frank Ocean decided to release their music through other companies.

In 2012, the label signed the hardcore punk band Trash Talk. This showed that Odd Future Records was open to many different styles of music, not just hip hop.

Who Was on the Label?

Many of the artists signed to Odd Future Records were also members of the Odd Future music group. The table below shows who was on the label and how many albums or EPs (short albums) they released with it.
