Dominique Marquis Cole (born March 9, 1991), known as Domo Genesis, is an American rapper, DJ, and songwriter. He is famous for being a part of the Los Angeles hip hop group called Odd Future. Since then, he has also had a successful solo career. He released his first album, Genesis, in 2016. In 2018, he started his own record label.

Domo Genesis: His Music Journey

Early Days: Rolling Papers (2009–2010)

Domo Genesis joined the music group Odd Future in mid-2009. He was already good friends with Tyler, the Creator, who is another member of the group.

His first mixtape, called Rolling Papers, came out on August 30, 2010. All the music for this mixtape was created by Tyler, the Creator, Left Brain, and Syd tha Kyd.

Growing as an Artist: Under the Influence and No Idols (2011–2012)

Domo's second mixtape, Under the Influence, was released on September 20, 2011. Many people thought this second mixtape was much better than his first. They said it was very focused and had a great style.

On February 9, 2012, Domo released a song with Wiz Khalifa called "Ground Up." Domo Genesis also made his first appearance on TV. He was in the show Loiter Squad, which was Odd Future's own TV show. He played a character named Young Gunshot.

Domo Genesis and Alchemist worked together on a mixtape called No Idols. It was available for free download on July 31, 2012. The first song from this mixtape, "Elimination Chamber", featured Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples, and Action Bronson. It was released on July 16, 2012.

New Projects: MellowHigh and Under the Influence 2 (2013–2014)

On April 4, 2013, Domo performed a song called "Rusty" on The Late Show with David Letterman. He performed with fellow Odd Future members Tyler, The Creator and Earl Sweatshirt. The song was from Tyler, The Creator's album, Wolf.

On October 31, 2013, the Odd Future record label released MellowHigh. This was a special album that brought together the group MellowHype and Domo Genesis. The album was quite popular, reaching number 89 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Domo Genesis shared exciting news on November 13, 2013. He announced that he was working on a new mixtape called Under the Influence 2 and also his very first studio album. By April 3, 2014, he said he planned to release both projects before the end of 2014. He later hinted on Twitter that Under the Influence 2 would be released on November 5, 2014.

Debut Album and More: Genesis and Red Corolla (2015–2017)

On January 4, 2016, Domo released a new song called "KWYM" (Keep Working Young Man) on SoundCloud. This was followed by his first official album, Genesis, which came out in March 2016. The main song from the album, "Dapper," featured Anderson .Paak and was released a few weeks earlier.

To support his new album, Domo went on the 2016 Chore Tour. This tour lasted from May 29 to July 24, 2016. On June 16, 2017, Domo released another mixtape called Red Corolla. This mixtape included guest artists like King Chip and Styles P.

Recent Work: Aren't U Glad You're U?, Facade Records and Intros, Outros & Interludes (2018–Present)

On January 19, 2018, Domo released the mixtape Aren't U Glad You're U? on his own through SoundCloud. The rapper and producer Evidence helped produce this mixtape. It featured only one guest artist, Phonte. On the same day, the music video for his song "Me vs. Me" was released on the official Odd Future YouTube channel.

Later in 2018, Domo released an EP (Extended Play) called Facade Records. This project was produced by the duo Mike & Keys. It featured other rappers like Buddy, IDK, King Chip, and Cozz. This project grew into a supergroup with Domo and Mike & Keys. They released two more EPs together, Just in Case and Just in Case 2, in 2020.

In 2021, Domo Genesis was featured on Tyler, the Creator's album Call Me If You Get Lost. He appeared on the song "MANIFESTO."

On July 29, 2022, Domo released another project produced by Evidence. It was titled Intros, Outros & Interludes. This mixtape featured guest appearances from Navy Blue, Remy Banks, Evidence, and Boldy James.

In 2023, several of Domo's older mixtapes were made available on streaming services. On April 20, his 2012 mixtape No Idols, which he made with The Alchemist, was re-released. Just two months later, on June 30, his mixtape Red Corolla also became available on all streaming platforms.
