History of Odell
Long ago, the land where Odell is now was part of a large area called the Otoe Indian Reservation. This was a special place for the Otoe Native American tribe.
The village of Odell was started in 1880. This happened when a railroad line was built through the area. The town was named after LeGrand Odell. He was one of the first people to own the land where the village was built.
