Odin, Missouri facts for kids
Odin is a small place in Wright County, in the state of Missouri, USA. It's what we call an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Odin is found along Missouri Route 38, about five miles west of a bigger town called Hartville. It's also located where two streams, Bowman Creek and the Woods Fork of the Gasconade River, meet up.
History of Odin
Odin once had its very own post office! This post office opened in 1882. It helped people send and receive letters and packages for many years. However, it closed down in 1915. The community probably got its name from another place called Odin, Illinois. It was common for new settlements to be named after places people had moved from.
