Ogooué-Maritime is a province in the country of Gabon, located on the western coast of Africa. It's the most western province of Gabon's nine provinces. The capital city of Ogooué-Maritime is Port-Gentil. In 2013, about 157,562 people lived here. The province covers an area of 22,890 square kilometers, which is about the size of a small country.
Where is Ogooué-Maritime?
This province is special because it's right on the coast! Its shores meet the Gulf of Guinea in the northwest and the big South Atlantic Ocean in the southwest. Imagine a map: Ogooué-Maritime is the only coastal province in Gabon that doesn't share a border with another country. It only borders other provinces within Gabon.
