Old Town wasn't always called Old Town! It was once known as Williamsburg. This name was chosen to honor a businessman named James E. Williams.

For a few years, Old Town had its own post office. This important service helped people send and receive letters and packages. The post office was moved to Old Town in 1877 from a nearby place called Tehichipa. It served the community for about eight years before closing in 1885.
