Olga Aleksandrovna Brusnikina (born November 9, 1978) is a famous Russian athlete. She is known for her amazing skills in synchronised swimming. This sport combines swimming, dance, and gymnastics. Olga is a three-time Olympic champion.

Olga first got noticed when she was only 14 years old. She performed a solo routine at the 1993 World Junior Synchro championships. In 1996, team synchronized swimming became an Olympic sport. Olga was part of the Russian team that finished fourth.

She won her first gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. This was in the "duet" event with her partner, Mariya Kiselyova. Olga was also part of the Russian team that won gold in 2000. She helped the team win gold again at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.

Life After the Olympics

After the 2004 Olympics, Olga Brusnikina retired from competing. In 2001, she married Sergey Yevstigneyev. He was an Olympic water polo player and a coach. They lived in Italy for a few years. There, Sergey played for a local team, and Olga coached synchronized swimming.

On August 14, 2006, Olga gave birth to their son, Iliya. After becoming a mom, she continued to coach synchronized swimming. She also worked as an international referee. Today, Olga is a member of the Government Commission on Physical Education and Sport. She is also part of the Russian Olympic Committee. Since December 6, 2022, she has been the head of the Synchronized Swimming Federation of the Russian Federation.

Awards and Recognition

In 2001, Olga Brusnikina received the Order of Honour. This is a special award given in Russia for great achievements.
