Olga Aleksandrovna Brusnikina (born November 9, 1978) is a very successful Russian athlete. She is famous for her skills in synchronised swimming, a sport that combines swimming, dance, and gymnastics. Olga is a three-time Olympic champion, which means she won three gold medals at the Olympics!

Olga's Amazing Swimming Career

Olga first showed her incredible talent when she was just 14 years old. She performed a solo routine at the 1993 World Junior Synchro championships. This was a big moment for her.

Olympic Success

Synchronised swimming became an Olympic event in 1996. Olga was part of the Russian team that finished fourth that year. She kept working hard and achieved great success later.

At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Olga won her first gold medal. She competed in the duet event with her partner, Mariya Kiselyova. They performed beautifully together. Olga also won another gold medal at the Sydney Olympics as part of the Russian team.

Her success continued at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Olga was again a member of the winning Russian team. This made her a three-time Olympic gold medalist!

Family Life

In September 2001, Olga married Sergey Yevstigneyev. He was also an athlete, an Olympic water polo player and a national coach. They first met in 1994. After they got married, they lived in Italy for a few years. Sergey played for a local team there, and Olga coached synchronised swimming.

On August 14, 2006, Olga and Sergey welcomed their son, Iliya, into the world.

Coaching and Leadership

After becoming a mother, Olga continued to be involved in synchronised swimming. She coached in Moscow Oblast and also worked as an international referee. This meant she helped make sure competitions were fair.

Today, Olga is an important figure in Russian sports. She is a member of the Government Commission on Physical Education and Sport. She also serves on the Russian Olympic Committee. These roles mean she helps make decisions about sports in her country.

Since December 6, 2022, Olga Brusnikina has been the head of the Synchronized Swimming Federation of the Russian Federation. This is a very important leadership role in her sport.

Awards and Recognition

In 2001, Olga Brusnikina was given the Order of Honour. This is a special award that recognizes people for their achievements and contributions.
