Olga Arsenievna Oleinik (born July 2, 1925 – died October 13, 2001) was a brilliant Soviet mathematician. She did important new work on complex math problems. These included partial differential equations, which help describe how things change. She also studied how materials behave under stress and how fluids flow near surfaces.
Olga Oleinik was a student of the famous mathematician Ivan Petrovsky. She spent many years studying and working at Moscow State University.
She earned many awards for her amazing contributions to mathematics. These included the Chebotarev Prize in 1952 and the State Prize in 1988. She also received the Petrowsky Prize and a prize from the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1995. She was also a member of several science academies in other countries.

Olga Oleinik was born in Matusiv, a village in the Ukrainian SSR, which was part of the Soviet Union. From a young age, she showed a great talent for mathematics. She went on to study at Moscow State University. There, she earned her PhD in 1954.
In 1985, she received a special honorary degree from the Sapienza University of Rome in Italy. This award recognized her major achievements in the field of mathematics.
