Ollie Johnson (born May 11, 1949) is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He played as a forward, a position in basketball where players often score points and grab rebounds. Ollie was 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighed 200 pounds.
He played for ten seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). His career spanned from 1972 to 1982. After his time in the NBA, he continued playing basketball internationally. Later, he became a director of athletics.

Early Life and College Career
Ollie Johnson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended South Philadelphia High School. After high school, he went to Temple University.
At Temple, he played for the Temple Owls basketball team from 1969 to 1972. He was a very good college player. In 1972, he was named the Middle Atlantic Conferences (MAC) University–Eastern Player of the Year. He was also chosen for the First-team All-MAC University–Eastern twice, in both 1971 and 1972.
Professional Basketball Career
Ollie Johnson was drafted into the NBA in 1972. The Portland Trail Blazers picked him in the second round. He was the 30th player chosen overall.
NBA Journey
Ollie played for several teams during his ten years in the NBA. He started with the Portland Trail Blazers from 1972 to 1974. He then played for the New Orleans Jazz in 1974.
From 1974 to 1977, he was with the Kansas City Kings. After that, he joined the Atlanta Hawks for the 1977–78 season. He also played for the Chicago Bulls from 1978 to 1980. His last NBA team was the Philadelphia 76ers, where he played from 1980 to 1982.
Throughout his NBA career, Ollie Johnson averaged 7.7 points per game. He also averaged 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. These numbers show he was a solid all-around player for his teams.
International Play
After his NBA career, Ollie Johnson continued to play basketball. He played for teams in other countries. From 1984 to 1985, he played for the Hobart Devils in Australia.
