Olof Dreijer's Music Journey
Olof Dreijer is a DJ and a record producer. This means he plays music for audiences and also creates new music in a studio. He is famous for his electronic music.
The Knife and DJ Coolof
Olof was part of an electronic music duo called the Knife. He created this group with his sibling, Karin Dreijer. While The Knife didn't often play live concerts, Olof loves to perform as a DJ. He uses the name DJ Coolof when he plays music in clubs across Europe.
He has a special rule for his DJ sets. He only plays at events or festivals that have an equal number of male and female artists. This means no more than half of the performers identify as men. He believes in fairness and equal chances for everyone in music.
Music as Oni Ayhun
Olof also creates music under a different name, or pseudonym, called Oni Ayhun. A pseudonym is like a secret identity for an artist. In late 2009 and early 2010, he released four short music collections called EPs (Extended Plays) as Oni Ayhun.
He also worked with other musicians. In 2010, he created a new version, or remix, of a song called "Kuar" by Emmanuel Jal. In 2011, he helped make the song "Jam" for the artist Planningtorock.
Supporting Human Rights
Olof Dreijer is also known for supporting human rights. He has shown his support for Palestinian rights. He does this by supporting the BDS movement. This movement encourages people to avoid cultural events or products from certain places to peacefully protest for human rights. Olof and The Knife have supported this idea for many years.
