Olt is a county in Romania. It is located in the southern part of the country. A county is like a large region or district within a country. Olt County is part of two historical regions: Oltenia and Muntenia. The main city and capital of Olt County is Slatina.
Geography
Olt County covers an area of 5,498 square kilometers. To give you an idea, that's about the size of a small country like Brunei. The county is named after the Olt River, which is an important river in Romania. This river flows through the county, dividing it into two parts. One part is in the historical region of Oltenia, and the other is in Muntenia. The landscape here is mostly flat plains, which are good for farming.
