Onésimo Díaz Hernández, born on August 16, 1966, is a Spanish historian. He is well-known for writing books about the history of Spain in the 1900s.

A Historian's Journey
Onésimo Díaz studied history at several universities in Spain. These include the Complutense University of Madrid, the University of Navarra in Pamplona, and the University of the Basque Country in Vitoria-Gasteiz. He earned his first Ph.D. in History from the University of the Basque Country in 1995. Later, in 2013, he received another Ph.D. in Church History from a university in Rome.
Writing and Media Work
Mr. Díaz has written many books, thirteen in total, and lots of articles for different magazines. He has also written book reviews for important journals like Arbor and Hispania Sacra. One of his books is called "Posguerra. La primera expansión del Opus Dei durante los años 1939 y 1940".
He has also shared his knowledge in newspapers such as ABC, El Mundo, and El Correo. You might have also seen him on Spanish television. He presents a cultural show called "Boom" on the Antena 3 channel.
Academic Presentations
Onésimo Díaz often shares his research at important meetings. In 2004, he spoke at a conference in Limerick, Ireland. His talk was about "Urquijo's brother and the Spanish modernization in the interwar period."
In 2015, he gave a presentation in Granada about "Falange versus Opus Dei." This study was even mentioned in another book about Spanish history.

Awards and Honors
Mr. Díaz has received awards for his historical writings. In 1994, he won the "Premio Leizaola" Award for his book "En los orígenes de la autonomía vasca". A few years later, in 1997, he received the "Premio Laudio-Llodio" Award for his work "Los primeros Marqueses de Urquijo y Llodio".
