Onésimo Díaz Hernández was born on August 16, 1966. He is a Spanish historian. He is well-known for his books about the history of Spain in the 1900s.

What Onésimo Díaz Hernández Does

Díaz studied History at several universities in Spain. These include the Complutense University of Madrid, the University of Navarra in Pamplona, and the University of the Basque Country in Vitoria-Gasteiz. He earned his Ph.D. in History in 1995. He also has a Ph.D. in Church History from a university in Rome.

He has written thirteen books. He also writes reviews for many history magazines. One of his books is called "Posguera. La primera expansion del Opus Dei durante los anos 1939 y 1940".

Díaz has written for newspapers like ABC and El Mundo. He has also contributed to magazines. You might have seen him on Spanish TV channel Antena 3. He hosts a cultural TV show called "Boom".

He has given talks at history conferences. For example, he spoke about "Urquijo´s brother and the Spanish modernization" in Ireland in 2004. In 2015, he gave a paper about "Falange versus Opus Dei" at a conference in Granada.

Today, Díaz is a professor of Spanish History. He teaches at the University of Navarra. He is also part of a special center there that studies Jose Maria Escrivá de Balaguer.
