One Metropolitan Square, often called Met Square, is a very tall office building in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. It was finished in 1989. Standing at about 180.7 meters (593 feet) tall, it is the tallest building in St. Louis. It is also the second tallest building in the whole state of Missouri. The only taller one is One Kansas City Place in Kansas City, Missouri.

One Metropolitan Square is a modern skyscraper designed for offices. It has 42 floors. This building is an important part of the St. Louis skyline. It helps many businesses have a place to work in the city center.
Who Uses This Tall Building?
Many different businesses have offices inside One Metropolitan Square. One of the main companies is Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum. This is an architecture firm, which means they design buildings. They are special because they also designed One Metropolitan Square itself!
Several law firms, like Bryan Cave and Evans & Dixon, also have their offices here. There is even a restaurant called Kemoll's Restaurant inside. On the very top floor, the 42nd floor, there is a special place called Top of the Met. It is used for parties and events.
How Was It Built?
The building was constructed by McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. This company is one of the biggest general contractors in St. Louis. They are experts at building large structures like this skyscraper.
A Fun Fact About Met Square
In May 2014, something unusual happened at the building. A small flying robot, called a DJI Phantom quadcopter drone, accidentally crashed into the building. It was a surprising event for everyone!
